How is healthcare organized in Altinkum?

There are a number of hospitals in Altinkum/Didim.  It is advisable to take out travel insurance before your trip. We would also advise clients that when they buy in Alanya that they obtain a copy of their medical history with their new Turkish address and leave it into one of the local hospitals. This will help if the need arises, as most holidaymaker's can never remember their Turkish address.

What is the climate like?
Altinkum/Didim has on average 200 days of sunshine.  Altinkum has a mild winter temperature of around 15 to 18 degrees. In the summer, temperatures are consistently above 33 degrees. July and August are the warmest months.

How is transport organised?
Dolmus buses are very frequent, cheap and provide a good service within Altinkum/Didim and the surrounding areas. There is also a good network of Taxis charging very reasonable rates.

Altinkum has the luxury of being in between two international airports, Izmir and Bodrum.  Bodrum -Milas international airport is 1 hr from Altinkum while Izmir is 1.5hrs away.

The name “Altinkum” when translated to English means “Golden Sands” .  The resort of Altinkum is graced with 3 main beaches and a number of smaller inlets throughout the Didim Peninsula.  The beaches are amongst the cleanest on the Aegean Coast.
